The Art of Structures – Exhibition design
The Art of Structures exhibition organized by MODEM – Center for Modern and Contemporary Arts and the Hajdú-Bihar County’s Chamber of Engineering accompanies Stefan Polónyi’s life work exhibition. Barna Architects laid down the concept and designed the interior space of The Art of Structures section in collaboration with Demeter Design Studio. The interior space concept is organized around the themes of locations, structures, and persons. The design strategy was to overlap the many different information and create intersections at common parts, the exhibition space was separated according to these informational intersections with block unit walls. The design process resulted in three main themes: Innovative structures in Debrecen, special structures and builders. These main themes were divided into seven sub groups. Overall, the aim was to collect and exhibit many models and prototypes to represent and explain the essence of structures to the wide public.
